Sapient offers online and in-person group instruction.

Core Class

Period: 9/6–12/15 (13 weeks)  |  Wednesdays 5–7 PM

This class aims to establish and solidify the basic concepts of English and systematically cover strategies in each area in one hour of reading and one hour of grammar.

This is a pre-SAT, pre-ACT class that will prepare students for not only the actual SAT/ACT but also school English through sophomore year of college.

SAT Class

Period: 8/13–11/27 (16 weeks)  |  Fridays 5–8 PM

Students will learn to quickly identify core and noncore content in reading passages and develop the mastery of fundamentals necessary to succeed in the grammar and math sections.

Period: 8/20–12/4 (13 weeks)  |  Fridays 6–9 PM

Students will learn to quickly identify core and noncore content in reading passages and develop the mastery of fundamentals necessary to succeed in the grammar and math sections.

Grammar taught by Aaron.

Period: 8/13–11/27 (16 weeks) | Saturdays 10 AM – 1 PM

Invitation-only based on diagnostic/simulation test results. The class goal is to score a perfect 1600. Classes will be held on 8/28, 10/2, and 11/6.

English Complete Success

Period A: 8/23–10/11 (8 weeks)   |  Mondays 5–7 PM

Period B: 10/18–12/13 (8 weeks)  |  Mondays 5–7 PM

  • It is not necessary to attend both periods.

Students will cover the necessary reading, grammar, and essay skills to be successful in advanced English courses. Readings will include works of fiction, literary criticism, and argumentative nonfiction.

Book Club

Period A: 8/18–10/6 (8 weeks)  |  Wednesdays 5–7 PM

Period B: 10/13–12/8 (8 weeks)  |  Wednesdays 5–7 PM

  • There will be no class Thanksgiving week.

  • It is not necessary to attend both periods.

Students will cover a major literary novel and short readings to develop analysis and interpretation. Students will practice reading and writing skills that can be broadly applied to analytical and argumentative writing.
